Synopsis: “Dear Mario” is a feature-length documentary that tells a love story while exploring the social and political life of a country, through the correspondence exchanged over many years between Mário Soares and Maria Barroso. The documentary creates a dialogue between the letters, the public and social events of each era, and Mário Soares' political actions. It is a love story that is both intimate and public, ordinary and profound.
