MIGUEL SEABRA LOPES
Directed 15 films – short fiction and/or experimental films, and creative documentaries – in various film and video formats. His work has been exhibited over 200 times in festivals, galleries, and museums, and has received awards in areas such as screenplay, editing, set design, direction, production, among others. He was once a partner at the production company AS-Produções; a member of the Teatro do Vestido; participated in the organization and curation of the “Cinema de Montagem I” and “II” showcases; and worked in cinema [as well as in television and advertising] as an assistant director, production manager, screenwriter, editor, and director.
He has also worked in camera, sound, set design, wardrobe, and note-taking. In recent years, as a screenwriter and project and editing consultant, he has collaborated with Maya Da-Rin, Pedro Peralta, Pedro Pinho, Julia de Simone, Frederico Benevides, Leonor Noivo, André Gil Mata, Bruno Safadi, the Pretti brothers, and, mainly, Karen Akerman. Currently, he focuses on writing screenplays and analog collage [under the artistic name colamofo].
