ANA PÉREZ-QUIROGA
Visual artist, filmmaker, and performer. She holds a PhD in Contemporary Art from the College of Arts at the University of Coimbra; a Master’s in Intermedia Visual Arts from the University of Évora; a degree in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon; and an Advanced Course in Individual Artistic Project from Ar.Co. She is a researcher at CHAIA – Center for Art History and Artistic Research at the University of Évora, where she is completing a postdoctoral program with FCT support.
Her work focuses on the everyday and its mapping, the significance of common objects in constructing self-representation, identity, gender issues, memory, post-memory, and color. These themes are materialized through various media: installations, objects, photography, film, textiles, and performance. She has received awards from the Portuguese Society of Authors - SPA for Best Visual Arts Exhibition in 2014, and the Millennium BCP Foundation for Artistic Project 2022. Her first documentary feature, “¿De qué casa eres?”, was supported by ICA and RTP.
