ANA MOREIRA 

Holds a master's degree in Contemporary Artistic Practices from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto. “Aquaparque”, the first short film she wrote and directed, won the Best Director Award and was nominated for the European Film Awards at the Vila do Conde Short Film Festival 2018, as well as the Critics' Award at the Luso-Brazilian Film Festival of Santa Maria da Feira 2019, and was showcased at various international film festivals. She served as a jury member at the 65th Locarno Film Festival in 2012, the 17th Sofia International Film Festival, and the 21st Vila do Conde Short Film Festival in 2015, the Queer Lisboa Film Festival in 2017, and MotelX 2021, among others.

As an actress, she was awarded Best Actress for her roles in “Os Mutantes” and “Transe” by Teresa Villaverde, and “Adriana” by Margarida Gil. She is also known for her lead role in “Tabu” by Miguel Gomes and for her work in films by João Botelho, Eugène Green, Salomé Lamas, Gabriel Abrantes, Jorge Cramez, Bruno Gascon, and others. In 2022, she received the Best Actress in Theatre Award from SPAutores for her performance in “Fora de Campo” by the Silly Season collective.
